Penis Snake Discovered In Brazil

A group of engineers building a dam in the Amazon recently discovered an Atretochoana eiseltiis, better known as a caecilian, which some people might know as a limbless amphibian, but, let’s be honest, the creature pictured above is a penis snake.

Monga Bay reports that the strange creature was discovered while the Madeira River was being drained as part of a damn building project in Brazil’s Madeira River. Biologist Julian Tupan said that six penis snakes were found at the bottom of the river.
Tupan said:

“Of the six we collected, one died, three were released back into the wild and another two were kept for studies. Despite looking like snakes, they aren’t reptiles and are more closely related to salamanders and frogs. We think the animal breathes through its skin, and probably feeds on small fish and worms, but there is still nothing proven.The Amazon is a box of surprises when it comes to reptiles and amphibians. There are still much more to be discovered.”

The Digital Journal notes that the discovery was made last November but it was only announced this week after biologist deemed that it was a new species.
Informally, the new Amazon River dweller is being called a “floppy snake,” but media outlets are having a little fun coming up with names like penis snake and man-aconda.

7 boys gang-molest girl, 15, in Rivers . . . Suspects arrested

A 15-year-old girl is lying critically ill in an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt after she was allegedly gang-molestd. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Rumuodumaya in Obio/Akpo Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Already, no fewer than seven boys said to be in their early 20s have been rounded up by the Police in connection with the incident.
 It was gathered that the girl (name withheld) had gone to the nearby Rumuokoro market to make some purchases in the evening of the fateful day.

On her way home, she was allegedly abducted by some boys and taken to their hideout located inside the Rumuokoro slaughter area where she was molestd. Daily Sun revealed that when the girl did not return that night, her parents raised alarm and reported her sudden disappearance to the police. Thereafter, a search party was organized and the girl was found unconscious at the Slaughter area said to be a notorious den for hemp smokers and criminals.

It was in the course of preliminary investigation after she was revived that the suspects were rounded up with the help of some community boys and taken to the Rumuodumaya Police Station. When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mr. Benjamin Ugwuegbulam (DSP) confirmed the incident.

He told Daily Sun that “some arrests have been made” and investigation is in progress. Reacting to the incident, the Director of a Non-Governmental Organization, Human Rights, Social Development and Environmental Foundation (HURSDEF), Comrade Justine Ijeomah decried the rising cases of molest in the society.

Comrade Ijeomah whose organization has been handling many molest cases involving under-aged girls called for stiffer penalties for proven offenders to serve as a deterrent to others.

11-yr Old Girl Gets Pregnant For Five Boys

It was a shocking story to the parents and neighbours of an 11 year old girl and pupil of Ikorenim Primary School in Calabar, Cross River State, Ekamen  Asuquo, when a pregnancy test that was conducted on her at the General Hospital, Calabar revealed that she was carrying a four-month pregnancy.


The mother of the primary five pupil, who resides at 2, Pipeline Road, Ikorenim had suspected pregnancy, going by the symptoms exhibited by the teenage girl, who was sick for a while as she decided to take her to the hospital after she failed to get well, despite long period of self medication.

The mother was rattled when it was discovered that the girl was pregnant after some tests.

A neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said “She has been at home for the past two months always complaining of one ailment or the other and the mother had to take her to the General Hospital after home medication could not heal her in the hope that she could be treated there.”

The neighbour, said when the teenage girl was confronted by her mother, who allegedly sells hot drinks and illicit drugs over who was responsible for the pregnancy, she mentioned one Tony, one of the boys that patronises her mother’s hot drinking joint.

However, the source hinted that when Tony was confronted, he said “He was the one who dated the teenage girl first but another customer, Jones snatched her from him and when Jones was confronted, he said he had since stopped dating the girl and mentioned another person, who when also confronted, mentioned another boy and at the last count, the number was five.”

It was gathered that the mother was infuriated when her daughter confirmed that she slept with all the boys mentioned and could not actually tell who was responsible. It was also gathered that two of the boys mentioned were tenants living in the woman’s house.

Out of annoyance, “She has since asked the two young men living in her house to quit but they are asking for time to secure another accommodation before they can vacate the house.”

When the distraught mother was asked what she was going to do with the daughter’s predicament, tears rolled down her cheek, as she said “I leave everything to God.”

When the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr John Umoh, was contacted, he said the incident had not been reported to the police.

Britain to allow gay marriages in churches

LONDON (AFP) – Britain will announce plans next week to allow gay marriages in churches and other religious buildings, officials said Friday, although Prime Minister David Cameron insisted no faith group would be forced to hold them.

Culture Secretary Maria Miller will unveil ministers’ responses to a consultation earlier this year, which will propose that religious organisations should be able to ‘opt-in’ to hold same-sex weddings, according to a government source.

Amid strong opposition from the Church of England and Roman Catholics, however, as well as many members of Cameron’s Conservative party, Miller will stress that no religious groups will be forced to conduct gay weddings.

Speaking to reporters on a visit to a car factory, Cameron said: “I’m a massive supporter of marriage and I don’t want gay people to be excluded from a great institution.

“But let me be absolutely 100 percent clear, if there is any church or any synagogue or any mosque that doesn’t want to have a gay marriage it will not, absolutely must not, be forced to hold it.

“That is absolutely clear in the legislation.

“Also let me make clear, this is a free vote for members of Parliament but personally I will be supporting it.”

Gay couples have had the right to hold a civil partnership since 2004 but campaigners have pushed for full equality with heterosexual couples.

In its submission to the public consultation in June, the Church of England said legalising gay marriage could force it out of its traditional role of conducting weddings on behalf of the state.

However the Quakers welcomed Friday’s news, saying they had been campaigning since 2009 for all marriages in Quaker meeting houses to be legally valid.

“We are waiting for the law to catch up,” said recording clerk Paul Parker, adding: “For Quakers, this is an issue of religious freedom and we don’t seek to impose this on others.”

A government spokesman said: “The government is committed to bringing equal civil marriage forward and the consultation results will be announced next week.

“We are very clear that religious organisations must be protected and that no religious organisation will be forced to conduct same-sex marriage ceremonies.

“The European Convention on Human Rights guarantees freedom of religion and we will additionally bring in very strong legal locks to ensure the protection is watertight.”

14-Year-Old Boy Who Was About To Become A Father Hangs Himself To Death

A 14-year-old boy who was found hanging at his grandparents home is thought to be the latest victim of the ‘fainting game’.

 Liam Hardy – who was about to become a father – was found unconscious at the home in Sutton.

He was taken to the St George’s Hospital in Tooting but died eight days later.

As reported by the Evening Standard, it is feared he may have become another victim of the ‘fainting game’ – in which young people choke themselves to achieve a brief high.

It is a craze which started in America and campaign groups say 86 people may have died in Britain as a result of the game.

Warm tributes have already been paid to the youngster. A memorial has been set up in front of Carshalton Boys’ Sports College which is covered in flowers and messages.

Some of his friends at the school are also receiving counseling.

His girlfriend Paige Ramsay is pregnant with their daughter.

She has left a number of messages on a Facebook page which was set up in the teenager’s memory.

In one she said: ‘Not long until our baby girl is here Liam. I can’t wait to meet her so then I’m finally holding part of you again.

‘I know I always said I was scared of giving birth but now I just don’t care because then you’ll finally be looking back at me again.’

An inquest into the teenager’s death has been opened and adjourned and the Metropolitan Police are not treating the death as suspicious. He died last Tuesday.

Liam’s mother, Janine Hardy, told the Sutton Guardian: ‘Liam was, and still is, my world – both my sons are. He was, and still is, very much loved by all his family and the many other people he came into contact with.

‘Although a typical teenage boy with his love of sports and music, he had a very kind hearted and helpful nature – happy to run errands to the local shop for his Mum, take the rubbish outside, or hold a door open for you enter.

‘He had a very special bond with his Grandad and was extremely close to his younger brother and was very protective of him.

‘The family would like to thank their family and friends, and Liam’s school, for their love, support and kind words at this difficult time. We will miss Liam every day.’

She said that her son had a keen interest in the navy and as a member of the sea cadets had travelled on the aircraft carrier HMS Ocean during its deployment marking this summer’s Olympic Games.

Headteacher Simon Barber said: ‘Liam was a popular boy who was likable, smart and good at sport.’

Six friends were reported to have been involved in a gruesome car accident at the earlier hour of today in Ibadan, Oyo State, out of which four of them whose name were Johnson, Bisola, Small and Dube passed out in the hospital and other two in critical condition.

Notorious B.I.G. autopsy released, 15 years after his death

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office released the autopsy report on Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie Smalls, on Friday, more than 15 years after the rapper was shot to death.
The 23-page report offers fresh details about his death, which remains one of the city's best-known unsolved homicides.
Wallace, 24, was shot and killed early on March 9, 1997, as he was leaving a music industry party. He was riding in the front passenger seat of a Chevrolet Suburban when another vehicle pulled up beside his and someone opened fire.
Wallace was shot four times, according to the autopsy report.
The fatal bullet entered his right hip and ripped through several organs, including his liver, heart and lung. The other bullets struck Wallace in his left forearm, his back and his left thigh.
He was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he arrived in full cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m.
At the time of his death, he had no drugs or alcohol in his system. Wallace was 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighed 395 pounds and had a tattoo on his right forearm that read: "The Lord is My Light and my Salvation ..."
His slaying has long stumped investigators.
Los Angeles police and the FBI both looked into the case but made no arrests.
Wallace was killed just six months after his former friend and rap rival Tupac Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas, leading some to believe both shootings were tied to a so-called rap war between East Coast and West Coast hip-hop artists and their record companies.
Shakur recorded for Marion "Suge" Knight's Los Angeles-based Death Row Records, while Wallace was signed with New York-based Bad Boy Entertainment.
Shakur's killing is also unsolved.

Man Imitates Friend's Voice To Rape His Girlfriend

A man allegedly raped his friend's lover after sneaking into her blankets in the middle of the night after imitating his friend's voice and usual jokes.
That was after his friend whom he had offered for accommodation together with his girlfriend at his place of residence visited the toilet.

Circumstances are that the alleged rapist, name withheld to protect the victim, on 27 October proceeded to Jokes and Saddle night spot with the complainant and her boyfriend. It is reported that after a short stint at the drinking spot they left for another one in the city centre.

When they arrived, it is reported that the alleged sexual predator remained seated in the car and later followed the pair into the bar instructing them that they should go home. It is alleged the trio proceeded to the man's place of residence in Famona where upon arrival he offered the pair his spare bedroom.

Around midnight, the complainant is reported to have woken up saying she was afraid of the darkness and in the process her boyfriend also woke up to visit the toilet.

It seems the now accused who was in his bedroom following proceedings in the spare bedroom rushed to the spare bedroom after realising that his friend had visited the toilet.

It is reported that when the man opened the door, the complainant thought it was her boyfriend and the former immediately joined her in bed holding her hands While imitating his friend's voice and jokes.

The victim thinking that it was her boyfriend, told the sexual poacher that she was tired but the later had none of it as he was reportedly kissing her whispering saying, "everything will be alright dear."

It is further alleged that he allegedly raped her once and returned to his bedroom.

The complainant who claimed that after the sexual abuse she felt burning sensations when urinating, reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the man.

For the offence the accused was brought before Bulawayo magistrate Mrs Learnmore Mapiye.

He was being charged with rape as defined in section 65 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23. He was not formally Charged and the matter I was remanded to 17 December at Regional Court C and the accused is out of custody on $50 bail.

Psqaure are about to sucker-punch MayD with their latest move to signing A (cheap?) Ghanaian equivalent.

 Barely two months after parting ways with May D, Square Records and Northside Entertainment is said to be closing in on a young Ghanaian Afro-Pop singer, Predy X, known in real life as Samuel Omane-Mensah.

Square Records, who parted ways with May D over “irreconcilable differences”, is keen on getting the highly-rated Ghanaian youngster into its fold.

According to sources close to CEO of Square Records and Northside Entertainment, Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye, the deal was expected to be concluded in the “coming days”.

Bayo Adetu, publicist for Square Records, which features the talented music duo P-Square, is reported to have told a Nigerian magazine, Entertainment Today that their pursuit of Predy X was due to his versatile music talent.

Asked how they discovered Predy X, the Square label publicist was reported to have said that “a top producer” mentioned him in a discussion; therefore the management of the label assessed him and decided to give him a chance.

Samuel Omane-Mensah aka Predy X, who is signed on to X Entertainment, is expected to move his base to Nigeria to agree to terms of Square Records, with the latter keen on avoiding the same mistake that led to its separation with May D.

Currently, Predy X’s ‘Dance With My Baby’ is enjoying massive play in pubs and nightclubs in Nigeria and Ghana.

The 25-year-old musician, a graduate of Ghana Institute of Journalism, is optimistic that the deal will materialize as soon as possible.

In an interview with Nigeria Entertainment Today, Predy X disclosed that his hard work was finally paying off.

According to him, “I am sure what might have endeared me to Square Records is my knack for performing with live bands rather than miming.”

27 Years Old Teacher Claims A 6 Years Old First-Grader Beat Him Up (Video)

A burly gym teacher is claiming a puny six-year-old student beat him up and caused him debilitating personal injury.

John Webster, a physical education teacher at P.S. 330 in Elmhurst, Queens, plans to sue New York City's Department of Education for failing to protect the 27-year-old against the pint-sized youngster - his lawyer dubbed 'a tiny terror.'

The teacher says a scuffle with Rodrigo Carpio, then 50 lbs, on April 26 has left him with an injured meniscus in his right knee and ligament damage to his right ankle.

Webster has been unable to work since the incident and is out on medical leave.

His lawyer, Andrew Siben of Bay Shore, Long Island, told the MailOnline that the teacher is seeking compensation for his medical expenses in addition to damages, which Siben would not specify.

The teacher, who had taught at the Queens public school for two years, claims the school was aware of the 'student's propensity to be explosive ... when he acted like a tiny terror' but they failed to adequately intercede.

The 27-year-old plans to sue the NYC Department of Education for failing to protect him.

Patience Jonathan Battles Cancer

Since 28 August 2012 when it was reported that Patience, the wife of President Goodluck Jonathan was flown to Germany for the treatment of an undisclosed ailment, the presidency has refused to give the nation a clear picture of what she is suffering from.



However, P.M.NEWS authoritatively gathered today that Patience is being treated for cancer of the uterus at Horst Schmidt Klinik in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Aso Rock’s denial of information has only helped to fuel an industry of speculations about the president’s wife, especially when she failed to show up with husband when he attended the 67th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, United States.
The online has been abuzz with all sorts of reports.

A recent one even claimed that Mrs. Jonathan was being treated for Parkinson disease.

Earlier reports had it that Patience was operated upon for ruptured appendicitis at the German hospital.

Yet, there was another report that the surgical procedure on Mrs. Jonathan was to remove a potentially cancerous uterine fibroid.
There were also speculations that she had travelled to Dubai to have a procedure performed and returned to Nigeria where she developed complications which led to her sudden evacuation to Germany.

The cancer of the uterus ailment was shrouded in secrecy all this while by Aso Rock, thus engendering all sorts of speculations about what Patience is really suffering from.

The Presidency did not help matters as it refused to come clean on the actual ailment of Patience. All the stories Nigerians are getting from Aso Rock have been a web of lies about the fate of Patience. And this deepened speculations over the nature of sickness the wife of the President is suffering from.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe told State House Correspondents Tuesday when he was asked about the health of Patience that “ordinarily, I do not want to comment on this matter. Nigerians have gone through a lot of trauma in terms of leadership and death and ill luck and all that (in the past).

“Gen. Sani Abacha died in the Villa, Obasanjo’s wife (Stella) died in the Villa, (President Umaru) Yar’Adua lost his life in the Villa.

“I think even if it is a suggestion that the wife of the President is sick, what I will expect Nigerians to feel is empathy, not probing, not questioning (about her health).

“Have we become so disenchanted with leadership as to believe that the leadership is inhuman? I believe that the First Lady is hale and hearty. I want to leave it like that.”

P.M.NEWS learnt that the absence of the First Lady during various activities held to celebrate Nigeria’s 52nd independence anniversary sparked fresh anxiety over her fate among her friends, family members and beneficiaries of her various activities.

Many of them who thought Mrs. Jonathan will be home for the independence celebrations were disappointed.

President Jonathan was reported to have visited the German hospital where his wife is on admission, on his way to New York for the United Nations General Assembly last week. But P.M.NEWS gathered that lack of information on the likely date of return of Mrs. Jonathan back to the country and speculations over the nature of illness afflicting her is a source of worry in the Presidency.

Anxiety over her absence since August heightened with Jonathan’s sudden return from Malawi and Botswana about three weeks ago, just two days into a trip that was billed to last for three days.

There were speculations that the President cut short his trip as a result of information he got on the sudden turn in the health of his wife.

The Presidency, however, denied this on grounds that the president had finished all aspects of the agenda of the visits to the two countries. Contrarily however was the report that the Presidency actually demanded from his hosts in Botswana to cancel his other engagements, suddenly after getting a phone call from Nigeria.

The initial response of the Presidency was to debunk claims that the First Lady is ill and receiving medical attention.

Ayo Osinlu, the Chief Press Secretary to Mrs. Jonathan told journalists last month that his boss had gone to Germany to rest after the hectic schedule of presiding over the African First Ladies Mission held several weeks before then.

This was in response to initial speculations that Mrs. Jonathan was flown to the hospital after an initial treatment at State House Clinic, Abuja for alleged food poisoning.

The story of the First Lady’s admission at the German hospital came to light four days after she left the country on 28 August.

Kevin Tita Wins Best Male Rapper At GWE Awards 2012. [ See Full Winners List].

Multiple award winning rapper Kevin Tita a.k.a Mr. Nigeria has added another feather to his cap of achievements after he took home the award for Best Male Rapper at the GWE Awards last night. The rapper who was nominated in 3 categories including Best Males Rapper, Best Lyricist of The Year and Best Pop Song of The Year, faced stiff competitions from other top rappers including EME’s Skales, SkinnyBoi and SweetLipz to win the award. He was all smiles as he walked up to the podium with all his #KEVINATION Family. Wearing gold chains estimated worth a little over N500, 000 he gave a heart touching acceptance speech saying ‘I dedicate this award to everybody out there who is struggling to earn an honest living. I am not better than ya’ll”.

Other artists who took home award plaques include producing Dollarz infinity Beats who produced three of the songs that were nominated including “Follow Me Baby” by Kevin Tita, “Sejucimi” by FSGeezy and ‘Olori’ by Toyin Michaels. New comer Henzee won the award for Best Lyricist of The Year   for his summer smash hit ‘Gbasibe” featuring Kevin Tita while Hydra took home the award for Best Pop Song Of The Year for his single “Plantain Chips” featuring Virus Detected and Dee2. Toyin Michaels won the Best R&B Artist of the Year Award. While hot on the scene dance hall artist FSGeezy won the award for Best Dancehall Artist of the Year though he was not present to collect the award, Kevin Tita collected it on his behalf and read out an acceptance speech sent to him by FSGeezy who is currently in Benue state for his video shoot.

The award very colorful event was took place at Kenfeli Palm Beach Hotels. The host was MC Major while artists like Skales, Praize, Kevin Tita, Hydra and new comer Shody took the stage to perform some of their hit songs.  The award was organized by top event organizing and promotions company Green World Entertainment in conjunction with the Kaduna State government to honor and reward young talents who have impacted on Northern Nigeria through entertainment.

Chula Vista, California October 2, 2012 In Chula Vista, California, a US Customs and Border Protection agent has shot and killed a 32-year-old mother of five after her car allegedly bumped into the man. At 13h00 on Friday, Valeria "Monique" Alvarado was killed on a residential street in Chula Vista, California. Border Patrol officials are claiming that the woman "assaulted" the officer by running him down with her vehicle. CBP Chief Patrol Agent Rodney Scott told NBC, “The suspect was armed with a vehicle, and literally ran our agent down.” “He was carried several hundred yards before he discharged his weapon through the windshield of the vehicle,” he added The on-duty agent was apparently responding to a felony warrant in the area, which was unrelated to Alvarado. According to Border Patrol officials, the agent landed on the hood of the car after being struck. However, multiple witnesses told reporters that they never saw the man on the car. Apparently as the agent opened fire on the woman at least six times, Alvarado reversed in an attempt to get away from the officer's gunfire. The agent was reportedly dressed in plain clothes and was not displaying a badge.

How Three Policemen Assault A 15-Year-Old Girl Inside Station

A closer scrutiny reveals Miss Chidinma is a troubled teen. She has been sexually abused serially by those least expected. Her life may never remain the same again.

 

The April sun was going to bed. Somewhere around Isheri, a Lagos suburb, a 15-year-old girl too was hurrying homeward. She looked around and sat at the front of a house. It was a decision that would affect her life. Not long after, a young man approached her, offering to help. The unsuspecting girl took the extended hand of help. A few hours later the young man molested her. Not only that, she was prevented from leaving the house.

Two days after, Chidinma struggled home to her already exasperated parents who were beside themselves with worries over the disappearance of their daughter. After showing her face at home, she was bundled straight to the church where the pastor lectured her on the gains of being an obedient child. It was the return of Chidinma’s father that exhumed any dirt the teenage girl thought had been buried.

The father insisted that he be taken to the house she spent two days. Reluctantly, the girl led her father to the house she spent the last two days. As soon as the father sighted the young who allegedly housed his daughter for two days, he was overcome by emotion and a shouting match ensued. Invectives and insults were hurled from both sides. Irked by the insolence demonstrated by the young man, Chadinman’s father made for the Isheri Police Station to report the matter.

At the police station, the matter was assigned to an elderly police officer who is also said to be the Station Officer. The officer Mr Ajayi, according to a petition signed by 25 rights groups, blamed the girl for the molest “because she ran away from home.”

Also, she “was severely beaten by Inspector Ajayi with her father’s approval on the ground that she caused what happened to her”.

Meanwhile, that was just the beginning of other harrowing experience which the girl would go through in the hands of this particular law enforcement agent and his colleagues. “Inspector Ajayi then asked that Chidinma (not real name) remain at the police station for a couple of hours in order for her to ‘calm down’.

"Confident that Inspector Ajayi held a position of trust, Mr Olosota (not real name) complied with the instruction and left for work hoping that his daughter would soon be allowed to return home. Whilst at the police station, a number of police officers on duty sexually assaulted her, some fondled her breasts and others verbally abused her.

All of these took place in the presence of Inspector Ajayi and another female officer who goes by the name of Happiness,” alleged the petition which copies were sent to the the Inspector General of Police, Lagos State governor, Lagos State deputy governor, Office of the Public Defender (OPD).

It continued: “Chidinma (not real names) was held at the Police Station all day till late in the evening without being offered any food. When she pleaded with Inspector Ajayi to release her to return home, he paraded her around the holding cells threatening detention with the male inmates. Ensuring that she was frightened enough, Inspector Ajayi took her back to his office.

In his office, he told her to write her statement and as she was writing, he was robbing her back telling her that he wants her to undress, when she refused, he threatened her. In her words: ‘Inspector Ajayi locked his office and told me that he wants to made love with me and if I don’t agree, he will detain me till tomorrow and carry me and the boy to court so that I will go to prison’.

Apparently scared, she allowed him have his way. Right in the police station and right on the police desk, Inspector Ajayi molestd Chidinma (not real name). At 9pm, Miss Chidinma (not real name) was released to go home” Chidinma confirmed the incident to Saturday Mirror adding that when he gave her a sachet of table water after and then allowed her to go home. She added that when she got home, she just went to bed without informing anybody of the incident.

The petition, however, alleged further that: “Inspector Ajayi did not take down Chidinma’s statement or the statement of the perpetrator and did not advise her to visit a general hospital for the necessary medical examination immediately after molest. He didn’t even open a case file for her. He only invited her and her father to the station the next day to go for a pregnancy test at Calvary Hospital, Omole Phase 2”.

But the teenage girl’s ordeal did not end there. On May 16 she was also molested. This time, the perpetrator is an acclaimed brother of a shop owner at Reality Plaza, Isheri. Her account: “A boy called IK now took us to the house. As we were going my friend excused herself saying she was to run an errand for her mum. Ike and I continued. When we got to the house, IK asked me to come inside but I refused. He now begged me to come and that he did not want to bring his sister’s phones outside. On getting inside, he asked to sit and offered me a newspaper.

He told me he was going inside to bring the phone. When he came back, he knelt beside me told me that there was no phone but that there was something he needed from. I asked him what. He then went inside again and brought a knife and asked me to pull off. He said he is a cultist and that he had done it before, that he would kill me and throw my body away in the night. When I refused he pressed the knife on my tummy and neck. When I saw blood, I started pulling off. I had on a gown and a pair of shorts. As I was doing that the N5, 000 which I kept in my knickers fell out and he picked it He asked me to lie down and I refused so he finally pushed me down and molested me.”

At the last incident, the girl could no longer hold it in. She returned to the shop with the aid of some good Samaritans and raised some dust. When her father got wind of the incident, he asked the daughter again to go to the police station, but she refused. On further probing, she finally owned up on why she did not want to return to the police station: she had lost confidence in the police.

That was when she opened up and told her father about her harassment by the officers and eventual molest by Ajayi. Saturday Mirror was at the said police station but everyone contacted declined to speak. Our correspondent was directed to the office of the Police Public Relations Officer. Frequent visits and calls to the officer, however, yielded no results. Twice her phone was picked by her orderly who promised to relay the message to her.

A message to the effect was also sent to her via her facebook account. Saturday Mirror was also at the office of the Officer in Charge (OC) Human Rights of the Lagos State Command Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amhedu, who is a lawyer.

Amhedu, who declined to speak with the press because he was not in a position to do so, said his office was aware of the matter. He also directed our reporter to the PPRO. However, a source in the Human Rights unit disclosed to Saturday Mirror that the matter was actually brought to the attention of the unit and that it was taken up and investigated.

The source added that the Commissioner of Police had been advised on the matter. Probed further, the source who disclosed that the unit has in its fold many lawyers of long bar experience added that during investigation, the victim, her father and the suspects including the police officer alleged were invited for interrogation.

“It was then that we discovered that the girl was wayward and that the father was trying to use her to extort money from Ajayi and the Nigerian Police. “It is true that Ajayi flogged her but he never molestd her as claimed”, it added.

Asked how they came about their conclusion, the source continued: “In front of everybody we asked the policeman to strip and he did but he was not wearing the type of underwear the girl said he had on. We also sent a police officer to his office, it was not as the girl described. There was no television set and there was no couch.

The girl was just lying “We have reprimanded Ajayi. The police have no right to administer corporal punishment which he did by flogging the girl. We have recommended that he be sent on a six months course on human rights. We have also charged the first suspect to court. Though he claimed, he did not molest her; the girl was a minor then, hence could not give consent.

That is defilement. He has been charged to court and remanded in prison custody” The source also dismissed the claim against the third suspect, IK, saying he was culpable and that the girl’s father also wanted to exploit the young man and his sister.

The source, however, reprimanded the girl’s father accusing him of wanting to use his daughter to exploit the said police officer who was actually his friend before the incident.
